Somerville Creative Writing ClubFifth Grade Only 
Do you love to write?  Then this club is for you.  This writing club will bring together students who love to write and appreciate the art of writing. During our time together, we will explore different genres of fiction writing and poetry and work to create and publish our own children's picture book!  Club spots are limited and are on a first come, first served basis.

~Meetings will be on Thursdays from 3-3:45, starting on 3/31 and ending on 6/9.
~Any interested student should be able to attend all meetings AND be willing to spend some time writing independently at home.
How to join:
~Write Ms. Kiernan a paragraph describing WHY you would like to join the creative writing club and some goals you have for yourself as a writer. Next, give it to Ms. Kiernan (Room 206). 

Somerville Story Squad  -- "FULL"

First graders come join Ms. Kaplan and Ms. Finnegan for some book chat! We'll explore the amazing works of Keven Henkes! You may recognize titles such as Chrysanthemum, Wemberly Worried, and Lily's Purple Plastic Purse.  In each meeting, we'll read together, share our thoughts and opinions and make connections to our lives and other stories.

Girls on the Run, Grades 3-5
Please join us for the Spring session of GOTR at Somerville! 
Led by trained Parent and Somerville Teacher- Coaches, Girls on the Run encourages girls of all abilities to build confidence, recognize their individual strengths and celebrate connections with others. We will use physical activity and dynamic discussions to build social, emotional and physical skills in every girl, while encouraging healthy habits for life. GOTR Spring Registration is open! Glee Club 
Are you in 4th or 5th grade? Do you LOVE to sing? Come join Glee Club! Learn to sing popular and classic pop songs including Broadway and musical theater! We will learn performing, acting, and singing techniques. We will focus on singing in harmony, reading rhythms, and understanding how to be a solo singer as well as an ensemble singer. There will also be some movement incorporated in our performances.  The Glee Club will perform at the School Concerts! Rehearsals are every Wednesday from 8:00am-8:35am starting October 6th. Some rehearsals are mandatory. Students are permitted to miss four non-mandatory rehearsals. Three late arrivals will count as a missed rehearsal. A schedule will be handed out at the first meeting. Handchime Club (5th Grade Only)
Join Somerville’s Handchime Club!  Learn how to play the Handchimes, develop your musicianship skills, gain performance experience, and be a part of a small ensemble.  Handchime choir rehearses every Tuesday from 8:00am- 8:35am starting on October 5th. The Handchime Choir performs at the School Concerts. Handchime Club has limited space. Please e-mail Ms. Vitale at [email protected] if you would like to become a member.  First come, first serve!

Leopard Leaders (5th Grade Only) 
Leopard Leader is a leadership and service-oriented club. Students will sharpen their leadership skills and model responsibility for their younger peers while contributing to the Somerville community. Recess Games Club
Welcome to the Recess Games Club!  Students will have the opportunity to be active after school hours and engage in great new activities. Somerville Student Council 
Calling all 4th and 5th Graders! Come and join the Somerville Student Council! Student council members will be responsible for planning events and activities for our 2021-2022 school year.
